The brief for the project was clear: transform a pied-a-terre in a new build by renowned developer Carl Dranoff into a hotel-like sanctuary. In addressing this, we focused keenly on the tactile quality of materials—prioritizing the hand-feel of fabrics—and embraced a soothing palette enriched with a diverse mix of materials and finishes.

Given the typical space constraints of urban living, we optimized the layout by designing a multi-functional second bedroom. This space features a custom piece crafted by one of our favored woodworkers, serving dual purposes as both a desk and a dresser, seamlessly transitioning between workspace and living area as needed.

The decor includes a sophisticated play of leathers and fabrics, complemented by African wood sconces and vibrant abstract art, creating a dynamic yet harmonious environment. Lush window treatments enhance the aesthetic while allowing natural light to permeate the space and ensuring privacy. This approach not only met the client’s requirements for a luxurious, adaptable living space but also infused the apartment with a rich variety of textures and colors that elevate everyday living to something akin to perpetual retreat.
