We recently transformed a 2,300-square-foot Rittenhouse apartment in Philadelphia, untouched since the '70s, into a sophisticated space designed for family gatherings that could also accommodate grandchildren. Recognizing the potential, our client consulted with us, and inspired by the apartment's possibilities, decided to purchase it. Collaborating with John Levitties from JAGR:Projects, we converted two of the original four bedrooms into a family room and an office, enhancing functionality while maintaining the apartment’s grandeur.

The renovation emphasized warmth and continuity, utilizing brass and light-hued wallpaper. The dining room, reimagined as the centerpiece, features a rich color scheme with an airy light fixture and textured sage  wallpaper, ideal for Thanksgiving and other gatherings. A gender-neutral bedroom for the grandchildren includes a cherished eight-foot-tall Steiff giraffe, adding a personal touch.

In the living room, we balanced vintage decor with versatile pieces, such as a crackled gold side table. Improving spatial flow, we installed sliding pocket doors and created a new entrance by the fireplace. This project not only revitalized a historic space but also tailored it to modern family entertainment and comfort needs, blending elegant design with practicality.
