Located in the historic Main Line suburb outside Philadelphia, this 3,300-square-foot French Colonial home was transformed into a sophisticated yet inviting retreat for a well-traveled couple downsizing from a much larger residence. Wanting a space conducive to both entertaining and everyday comfort, they collaborated with us, architect Neil Young, and builder Orion to create a home that felt both polished and deeply personal.

Key structural updates included reorienting the primary bedroom to allow for a spacious dressing room and adding pocket doors to maximize the living area. The design embraces a rich palette—minty sage in the kitchen, deep midnight in the den, a moody plum bar, and contrasting bedroom tones of duck egg blue with blush and burnt orange with wheat.

With custom-crafted oak bookshelves, statement lighting, and textiles from De Gournay and Pierre Frey, the home strikes a balance between refined elegance and relaxed livability. Designed for entertaining while remaining effortlessly comfortable for their grandchildren and two dogs, this home blends bold style with warmth and functionality.
